We are introducing Extension Management capabilities for Enterprise Browser, empowering administrators with greater control over browser extensions. This feature enables admins to create comprehensive extension management policies at the account level.
With this feature, administrators can:
- Define Default Actions: Set a default action to either allow or block all extensions from the Chrome Web Store.
- Create Exception Allow Lists: Specify lists of allowed extensions using their unique Extension IDs.
- Force-Install Extensions: Automatically install a subset of designated extensions for all users within the account.
Navigate to Policies > Enterprise Browser Protection > Extension Governance
The list page displays.

You can only have one Extension Governance policy for your account. Once you’re baseline policy is created, the New Policy button is grayed out. However, you can edit your baseline policy.
1.Click New Policy to create an Extension Governance policy.

2. Click +Extension in the Exception List to search for an extension name or ID. Anything you add in this field is allowed at your user’s discretion to install (#1 in the image above).
3. Click +Extension in the Force Install List to search for an extension name or ID. Anything you add in this field will be force installed for all users (#2 in the image above).
By default this baseline policy is enabled.
4. Click Save.
