Service Description
Netskope China Premium and Netskope China Elite are add-on subscription services for selected Netskope Inline services, providing enhanced connectivity for Users and their traffic requiring access in Mainland China.
Definitions and Units of Measure
Definitions
A User is each individual that (a) is authorized by the Customer to use the Customer’s systems (including the Customer’s network, cloud services and Internet connections), and (b) whose use of such systems is monitored by, or accessed by use of, the Services.
Traffic means authenticated or unauthenticated traffic that is processed by Netskope China data centers.
Bandwidth is defined as the sum of upload and download data transfer rates. Bandwidth is an entitlement ceiling for traffic processed.
Units of Measure
- User: Each User is one Subscription Unit that cannot be shared between multiple individuals.
- Traffic: Measured in gigabytes (GB) or megabytes (MB); represents the volume of traffic processed per calendar month.
- Bandwidth: Measured in Megabits per second (Mbps), represents the peak allowable bidirectional (upload plus download) data transfer rate.
Entitlement
Subscription Period: As set forth in a Customer’s order.
Licensing Models:
User-Based: Each Subscription Unit entitles the customer to one (1) User with a fixed allocation of Traffic per calendar month as defined in the applicable SKU description.
License entitlement excludes unauthenticated traffic, such as guest Wi-Fi traffic and machine traffic, unless separately licensed via additional data entitlement.
Bandwidth Based: A Subscription for Bandwidth entitles the Customer to the maximum bidirectional data transfer rate as per the entitled Subscription. Bandwidth must be purchased with a minimum of 100 Mbps. Customers are responsible for managing their Bandwidth and staying within entitlement.
Pooling: User, Traffic allocation (GB/MB) and Bandwidth (Mbps) entitlement is assigned at the account level and may be shared across Customer’s tenants and is not enforced on a per-User basis.
Add-On Packages: Customers may license incremental Subscription Units to increase their entitlements at any time during the Subscription Period by placing an additional Order.
Non-Rollover: Any unused allocations at the end of a calendar month do not roll over to the subsequent period.
Usage Monitoring
Netskope will monitor the Customer’s actual usage and notify the Customer when the number of Users or volume of data processing or Bandwidth exceeds the licensed quantity.
Measurement and Enforcement
Measurement Methodology
User-Based: Netskope measures User entitlement based on the number of unique Users observed over a rolling 90-day period.
Netskope measures traffic consumption based on the cumulative volume of traffic processed through Netskope’s China data centers for all Users across all tenants in the Customer account over a calendar month.
Bandwidth-Based: Netskope measures Bandwidth based on bidirectional peak throughput processed through Netskope’s China data centers each month.
Service Limitations
Netskope reserves the right to restrict functionality if usage exceeds the entitlement. Exceeding entitlement may result in service degradation or traffic failure.
Overage Remediation
User-Based: For Users, if the Customer’s number of Users exceeds the purchased User entitlement, the Customer must, within 30 days of notification:
- License additional User packages sufficient to cover the excess Users for the remainder of the Subscription Period; or
- Cease usage of the services by Users in excess of purchased User quantities.
In addition, if the Customer has exceeded the purchased GB entitlement by more than 10% for any two (2) consecutive months during the Subscription Period, then within 30 days of notification, the Customer is required to increase the subscription such that it is sufficient to cover the highest monthly usage during that period.
Bandwidth-Based: The customer shall be required to purchase incremental Bandwidth within the ensuing 30 days to accommodate the un-entitled Bandwidth.
Customer Records
The Customer may be required to provide written information or confirmation of the number of Users and volume of data processing upon reasonable request by Netskope.
Exclusions
China Services Addendum: All China Premium and China Elite services require execution of Netskope’s China Services Addendum. Netskope China services use licensed domestic third-party carriers to connect Netskope data centers in Mainland China to the public internet. Any regulatory restrictions or filtering are implemented by the domestic third-party carriers, not Netskope.
Legacy SKU Scope: Legacy SKUs (NK-NGSWG-CN-PRM and NK-NGSWG-CN-ELT) do not include the machine traffic overflow provision available in new subscription tiers. Data processing under legacy SKUs is limited to authenticated User traffic only.
