Configure Google Cloud Platform for Cloud Logging
This article describes the steps required to enable log ingestion on your GCP environment. You can choose to enable the log ingestion at one of the following levels:
Important
Ensure that you enable log ingestion at any one of the following levels.
- Enable log ingestion for the organization whereby the log sink will be created at the organization level and all the logs for the organization and the child resources such as folders and projects will be aggregated and sent via the same aggregated sink. For detailed documentation, see Enabling Log Ingestion at Organization Level.
Important
If you enable log ingestion at the organization level, you need not enable it again at the folder or project level.
- Enable log ingestion on a specific folder and ingest logs for resources under this folder only. For detailed documentation, see Enabling Log Ingestion at Folder Level.
Important
If you enable log ingestion at the folder level, you need not enable it again in folders and projects inside this folder.
- Enable log ingestion for a single project and ingest logs from this project only. For detailed documentation, see Enabling Log Ingestion at Project Level.
