Upgrade and Support for Auto-Updates Host OS from Ubuntu 20 to 22

Final Support for Ubuntu 20.04

Netskope Publisher R125 is the last supported release for Ubuntu 20.04. All existing Publishers must upgrade to R125 before proceeding to future versions.

Mandatory Upgrade Path

Publishers running versions earlier than R125 (<R125) must first upgrade to R125. Direct upgrades from versions older than R125 to versions newer than R125 (such as R126) are not supported.

Automatic Host OS Upgrade from R125 to R126

Upgrading from R125 to R126 triggers an automatic host OS upgrade from Ubuntu 20.04 to Ubuntu 22.04. Ensure your environment is prepared, because this process is automated.

Manual Upgrade Restriction (R125 → R126)

Manual upgrades from Netskope Publisher R125 to R126 are only permitted if the host OS is already running Ubuntu 22.04. If your Publisher host OS is Ubuntu 20.04, the automatic upgrade process must be followed.

Ubuntu 22.04 Base Image

Starting with R125, all future Netskope Publisher images are based on Ubuntu 22.04, providing improved stability, enhanced security, and compatibility with modern technologies.
