Local Broker Support Policy

Local Broker Support Policy

Netskope One Private Access (NPA) Local Broker is a software component that enables ZTNA capabilities, similar to the Netskope Cloud, within customer-owned environments. For more information, go here

Netskope periodically introduces Local Broker software versions that offer enhancements and additional capabilities. For compliance with the Netskope Service-Level Agreement (SLA), you are required to update your Local Broker software periodically. For management and upgrade instructions, including supported platforms and versions, refer to Deploy a Local Broker. As part of the software update process, Netskope will attempt to update the Local Broker software package, Host OS, and OS Kernel as applicable.

Local Broker Software Support Model

Netskope will support the latest (N) version and one previous version (N-1) of the Local Broker software. Here N refers to the Local Broker’s software version number, corresponding to a Netskope Cloud release.

For example, if the latest Local Broker version is 123.0.0.1, Netskope will support version 123.0.0.1 and 122.0.0.1. Support will not be offered for earlier releases, such as 120.0.0.1. Updates for software defects and security vulnerabilities will only be introduced in new software versions. Netskope will not backport software updates to older versions. You should consider upgrading your Local Brokers to the latest version to take advantage of enhancements and security updates.

For information about using 3rd-party applications with the Local Broker, go to Guidance for Installing 3rd-party Applications on Local Brokers section below.

Guidance for Installing 3rd-party Applications on Local Brokers

Be aware that any additional software (not included with the Netskope provided package) that is installed on a Local Broker instance will be sharing resources with the Local Broker application. In addition, Netskope and 3rd-party domains, and Local Broker software processes, may need to be allowlisted in the 3rd-party software.

Network security software that monitors each and every action on the Local Broker instance may cause performance issues. You can install security software as long as doing so does not impact Local Broker performance. It is your responsibility to ensure that enough resources are allocated for all the software applications running on a Local Broker instance.

To troubleshoot issues, Netskope Support may request you to test/recreate without 3rd-party software to narrow down the root cause.
