Netskope One DSPM 12.4 Release Notes

Netskope One DSPM 12.4 Release Notes

Ensure that your sidecars are at least version 12.3 in order to take full advantage of the latest Netskope One DSPM features, including Smart Scan.

    Major New Features

    Single Appliance deployment model

Netskope One DSPM now supports a Single Appliance deployment model that combines the DLP appliance and DSPM sidecar into a single, unified instance. This significantly improves on-premises infrastructure deployment by eliminating the need to manage separate components for DLP processing and DSPM scanning.

With the Single Appliance deployment model, organizations can:

    • Simplify initial setup. Deploy one appliance instead of managing separate DLP and sidecar instances, reducing deployment time, configuration complexity, and infrastructure maintenance.
    • Download the appliance image directly from the DSPM tenant. Users no longer need to visit a separate download portal and navigate a confusing series of buttons that have nothing to do with DSPM. Now you click just one button to access the image!
    • Manage both the appliance and sidecars from a unified UI. View and configure both from the Sidecar Administration page that exists in DSPM today, which has been enhanced to show greater detail and telemetry.
    • Control your appliance upgrades straight from DSPM. See your appliance upgrade schedule, configure it to match your organization’s needs, or manually kick it off at your leisure. Monitor the history of your appliance and sidecar upgrade history using the new detail view.

    Improvements and Updates

    Snowflake scan duration capping

Snowflake scans now support capping the duration of sampling queries, preventing long-running full table scans on large fields. This prevents Snowflake from racking up unnecessary usage bills while still providing for DSPM’s clarification capabilities & risk assessments.

    Abort Queued Scans

Users can now abort scans that are in a queued state before they begin execution. Previously, only active scans could be cancelled.

Improved on-screen display when DB Role Count is not available

When DB Role Count analysis is unavailable for a data store, the UI now displays a clear restriction message explaining why the analysis cannot be performed, rather than showing an empty or confusing state. This addresses an issue where the current icon and tooltip may appear misleading or alarming due to the limited context provided (for example with S3, an object storage service which does not have the concept of database roles).
