Using API Data Protection involves configuring the API connection for your Microsoft 365 Outlook Commercial & GCC apps. For DLP, Netskope scans outgoing emails (sent folder) including the body of the message, subject, and attachment. For threat protection, Netskope scans attachment only.

In order to use the Next Generation API Data Protection for Microsoft 365 Outlook Commercial & GCC, first you will need to connect Netskope to your Microsoft 365 Outlook Commercial or GCC account via Microsofts’ API.
