Slack Files Page
Slack Files Page
The files page provides a high-level overview on the status as well as statistics of file exposure, violations, and channel types. You can search for files that may violate corporate policy.
Tip
You can refresh the page by clicking the refresh icon beside the instance name of the app.
The files page contains a table showing file name, sender, exposure, file size, created at, file type, sender type, and source app (team only).
The files page allows you to search for specific users and files using filters. To use the search filters, click + ADD FILTER to apply one or more of these filters:
- File Name: Find files based on complete name of files.
Note
- When a user deletes a file, Slack does not provide an explicit API notification. Due to this, Netskope continues to shows this file in the dashboard. This is a limitation of Slack API.
- If you intend to search a file on the dashboard page, enter the complete file name. Partial file name search is not supported.
- Sender Name: Find files owned by a specific user.
- Channel Name: Find files in specific channel used.
- File ID: Find files based on Slack file ID.
- File Type: Find files based on the type, like documents, images, and so on.
- File Size: Find files based on the file size.
- Exposure: Find files based on whether their exposure is public, private, externally shared, or internally shared.
- Sender Type: Find files based on whether the sender is internal or external.
- Channel Type: Find files based on whether they are shared in public channels, private channels, or direct messaging.
- Workspace: Find files associated with a specific team. This filter only appears for Slack for Enterprise.
- DLP Policy Hit: Find files that hit a DLP policy.
- DLP Profile: Find files that may have critical information like PCI, PII, PHI, or any DLP profiles.
- DLP Rule: Find files that violate predefined and custom data identifiers in your profiles.
- With DLP Violations: Find files based on a DLP violation.
- Source App (teams only): Find files sourced from a third-party integrated application like Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
Based on the filter used, a list of files is displayed in the files table. To view complete details about the file, click an item to open the File Details summary.
The files page also allows you to:
- Download files. Select the checkbox beside the file name and click DOWNLOAD to save the file locally.
- Export the contents of the files table. Click EXPORT to download a spreadsheet file.
