Email Outbound Metrics

The Email Outbound page includes a set of metrics designed to provide you with valuable information.

SMTP Connection Errors

This metric displays an aggregated count of failed TCP connections to the customer’s SMTP Proxy POP, measured over the last five minutes and displayed as a time series. Values range from zero (no issues) to values representing the error count.

SMTP DNS Resolution Errors

This metric provides an aggregated count of failed attempts to resolve the SMTP Proxy domain name for a region, measured over the last five minutes. Regional failures are propagated to all POPs, as a DNS failure for a region impacts all POPs within that region. Values range from zero (no errors) to higher numbers reflecting the error count.

Connection Errors Next Hops

This metric displays an aggregated count of failed TCP connections from the customer’s SMTP Proxy POP to the Next HOP, measured over the last five minutes and displayed as a time series. Values range from zero (no errors) to higher numbers indicating the error count.

DNS Resolution Errors – Next Hop

This metric displays an aggregated five-minute count of failed attempts to resolve the next hop’s domain name from the customer’s SMTP Proxy POP.

Email Forward Success Count

This metric displays an aggregated count of emails successfully forwarded to the next hop over a five-minute interval. Zero (no emails) to higher numbers indicating successful forwards.

Email Forward Failure Count

This metric displays an aggregated count of emails that the proxy failed to forward to the next hop over a five-minute interval. Failures occur when emails are rejected by the next hop. Zero (no failures) to higher numbers representing impacted emails.
